Stepping into the Unknown with Courage & Faith
Although I don’t have a book club like Oprah, every so often I read something that feels too impactful not to share. This summer, two very different books found their way into my hands and into my heart. They moved me deeply, challenged the edges of my understanding, and left me with a clear message: it’s safe to step out in faith and courage, even when the path ahead is uncertain.
At first glance, these books couldn’t be more different in subject or tone. But as I turned the final page of the second, it dawned on me how profoundly connected they are. Both invite us—gently but unmistakably—to stretch beyond what we know, to release fear, and to trust that something greater is calling us forward. Spirit clearly wanted me to hear this message. Maybe it's a message for you, too.
Book One: Walking On Water by Claire Summerhill
This little gem of a book is an inspirational guide for anyone standing at the edge of change, wondering whether it's time to leave the safety of the familiar for something more aligned, more alive. Whether you're facing a personal crossroads or feeling the quiet ache of a life that no longer fits, Walking on Water offers not just encouragement, but a clear path forward.
Claire Summerhill structures her book around the well-known Bible story of Peter stepping out of the fishing boat to walk on water. Whether you resonate with the Bible or not, the fishing boat story provides the perfect framework and springboard for Claire to explore spiritual truths from many different traditions. She weaves together teachings, poems, and stories from Rumi, A Course in Miracles, Buddhism, Hinduism, and her own life experiences with grace and ease. It’s a rich tapestry of wisdom, told through engaging stories that illuminate the seven essential steps Claire outlines to follow our inner calling.
As someone who learns best through story, I found this book engaging, thought-provoking, and deeply resonant. Claire writes with clarity, warmth, and a kind of quiet authority that makes her guidance easy to receive. And somehow, she manages to deliver this powerful, transformational message in just 100 pages. It’s a book I couldn’t put down—and one I know I will return to again and again.
Book Two: Imminent: Inside the Pentagon’s Hunt for UFOs by Luis Elizondo
I know—this one might seem a bit “out there” (pun intended). But stay with me. Imminent is far more than a book about UFOs (or UAP, Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena, as they are now called). It’s the story of a man stepping far outside his comfort zone—again and again—guided by his own integrity and a deep sense of responsibility to humanity.
Luis Elizondo, a former military intelligence officer, was recruited to lead a quiet but intense investigation into UAP for the U.S. government. What he discovered—and more importantly, what he chose to do with that information—forms the heart of this riveting and courageous book.
Luis doesn’t try to sensationalize the topic. Instead, he methodically presents accounts from highly credible witnesses: fighter pilots, military personnel, and trained observers whose experiences defy conventional explanation. He shares theories from leading scientists and physicists that stretch our understanding of time, space, and reality itself—all in clear, approachable language. You don’t need a background in quantum physics to appreciate the depth of what he’s revealing.
But what struck me most was not just the content—it was his courage. Luis is, perhaps unknowingly, following the very same 7 steps that Claire outlines in Walking on Water. He leaves the safety of the "boat"—his career, his reputation, even his personal security—to follow a deeper truth. He moves forward with faith, not fear. And his commitment to transparency, ethics, and public awareness is nothing short of inspiring.
A Shared Message: Step Into the Unknown
These two books, different as they are, felt like a divine echo of the same message: Amazing things happen when we step out into the unknown with courage and faith. Whether you’re questioning a life path, a belief system, or your place in a much larger universe, both books encourage you to stay curious, stay open, and keep walking—even when the path ahead feels daunting.
So if you are looking for some summer inspiration, I invite you to read one—or both—of these books with an open mind and an open heart. Let them challenge your assumptions, stir your soul, and remind you that growth rarely happens within our comfort zone.
And if you’re ready to take a bold step in your own life, I would be honored to support you with a series of Spiritual Coaching Sessions or a private Family Constellations Session. Both can help you break free of the gravitational pull of your current circumstances and give you tools and insights on how to continue moving forward toward a more peaceful, joyful, and miraculous life.
Look around my website for more information about both of these opportunities. You can also book a session directly using my automated scheduler. Thanks to the miracle of technology, we can meet no matter where you live in the world. I look forward to “walking on water” with you!
Until next time, I encourage you to keep your heart and mind open to new possibilities out past your comfort zone. That’s where miracles happen!
Miracles arise from a miraculous state of mind, or a state of miracle-readiness.
