A Simple Happy Message

While driving home from my beach walk on Monday, I found myself behind a large black passenger van. I didn’t notice the sign stuck on its back door until we stopped at a traffic light. It brought an immediate smile to my face when I read its simple, happy message: “I hope something good happens to you today.”

Reading those words sent a wave of hope and optimism through me. Can you imagine the joyful ripple effect it would have if hundreds of thousands of people in cities around the globe had stickers like that? I was amazed at how such a small gesture made such a big impact on me.

This little sign was evidence of what I 100% believe. Humans are hardwired to be kind, compassionate, and helpful toward one another. Yes, fear sometimes gets the better of us, and we forget. But our true nature eventually shines through.

Before the light turned green, I snapped a photo so I could share it with all of you here. That is my message for you this week. Although I upgraded it a little bit, it's still short and sweet.

“I hope something wonderful happens to you today.”
